Alpinestars Classic Shoe | SR Tested Product Review

Casual shoes that offer better performance than your average apparel

Besides its extensive catalog of protective moto gear, Alpinestars also offers a large selection of casual apparel, including footwear. And while they might not be made for actual riding purposes, these items are still well-designed products that offer better performance than your average apparel. Case in point: Astars’ Classic Shoe.

Constructed from a durable and soft split-suede up top, the Classic has breathable 3-D mesh in the lateral and medial panels as well as the tongue, plus a 3-D mesh inner liner for comfort and flexibility. The internal toe box and heel counter are built in to provide long-lasting structure and overall fit, while a replaceable anatomically profiled EVA foam footbed and exclusive vulcanized rubber sole with dual-density composite midsole provide superb support and cushioning.

The Astars Classic shoe provides excellent all-day comfort while we race through the paddock for story material carrying all manner of gear and then end up walking to the press room that’s always on the opposite end of the circuit. And not only does it do it in style, but it also grips better and lasts longer than your average casual shoe. Most of the more common name-brand casual shoes we’ve tried have quickly worn out their soles within a year. Interestingly, that has not happened with the Astars Classic; the bottom sole still has plenty of paddock miles left
