Alpinestars’ Spring 2013 collection is headlined by multiple leather suit and leather jacket offerings, plus perfectly commemorates the company’s 50-year anniversary. The Spring 2013 selection extends beyond cowhide protection mind you, and is also highlighted by the new Viper Air textile jacket, Roving backpack and more.

The Orbiter suit is one of the two aforementioned one-piece leather suit offerings and benefits from an offset zipper that aids in suit ingress/egress. The suit’s relaxed cut promotes a comfortable, more upright riding position, says Alpinestars, and its more relaxed neckline should make it an ideal piece of apparel for riders who put equal emphasis on safety and comfort. Aramid — rather than leather — stretch panels are an all-new feature and keep the suit’s weight within reason.

An $800 Motegi one- and two-piece suit will sell alongside the $899 Orbiter and feature new graphics, which are imprinted on the suit for weight savings. A $599.95 Celar jacket compliments this lineup of leather apparel and has reflective inserts for increased visibility in addition to a Dynamic Flow Control system for proper ventilation in warmer conditions.

Astars’ textile lineup is no less impressive than its leather lineup and has been enhanced with the addition of the Viper Air jacket, which is constructed around a 600 Denier poly-fabric outer shell and reinforced with PU protection for safety purposes. The Viper Air will retail for $199.95 and is available in sizes S–4XL.

Those who aren’t in the market for a new jacket or suit will be happy to learn that Alpinestars has expanded nearly every facet of its collection. The Italian company has introduced a new, low-profile Roving backpack, for example. Astars has also made available two separate pairs of mechanic gloves, the Mech Pro and Mech Air. Retail for the former, more protective gloves is set at $54.95, whereas the latter gloves will sell for $44.95.
