Cycle World’s Top Instagram Posts of 2015

A look back at 2015 through the lens of our @CycleWorld Instagram account. This #hashtag review is a glimpse at some our more popular photos, and all the inspiration you’ll need to make it through winter.

Riding around the rain-soaked backroads near Portimao, Portugal, while attending the press introduction for the 2016 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and Enduro. We crest a small hill to find the photographers have chosen this slippery bit of asphalt as our wheelie stop.

Throwback Thursday is always fun and what could be more fun than airing out a GSX-R1000. Has us thinking the “SX” stands for Supercross?

Slicing through the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco is Iizi n’Tichka pass. This twisty-road paradise also known as Gorges du Dades, is claimed to be the second most winding road in the world. When we find the most winding we’ll let you know.

The moment a heated battle ended a championship run and divided MotoGP race teams and fans alike. Two of the all time best share a look.

Every year in November the world’s moto-press converge upon Milan, Italy, for the largest motorcycle show on the planet, a four-day-long affair with hundreds of exhibitors. In 2015 Yamaha Motor Company unveiled an impressive lineup of new machinery starring this gem, in 60th-anniversary livery, the XSR900.

When did motorcycle travel require big bikes and big money? Freedom comes in many sizes. Twisted Throttle saddlebags and a Ducati Scrambler allow you to dream big with a small bike.

Baja California, Mexico, is a favorite destination for adventure and Adventure Bike riders. We retraced the historic El Camino Real, Spanish for “The Kings Road.” A glorious experience, including six historical missions, roadside tacos, and random misadventure.

In July we announced our choices for "Cycle World Ten Best." This carbon-fiber winged beast with a claimed 326 horsepower blew the doors off our Best Superbike category.

The 1200 Special is a $140,000 Hypermotard built by NCR Motorcycles of Bologna. Carbon fiber wheels and bodywork along with a titanium frame have it tipping the scales at a feathery 295lbs. That would be a whopping 125lbs less than a stock Hyper.

Arch Motorcycle Company co-founder Keanu Reeves sits atop the prototype KRGT-1. The low-volume power cruiser was not a blockbuster but neither was it a box office flop. We found it to be a fine ride.

Witness American muscle versus Italian design. In “Turn and Burn II,” our ultimate performance shootout, we pitted the V-8 Corvette Z06 against a Ducati 1299 Panigale in a race to 180 MPH!

When it’s man versus mountain sometimes the mountain fights back. A partnership with Victory at Pikes Peak Hill Climb had our man Don Canet battling for grip. His helmet cam captured this scary moment in practice. Lucky for us, he lived to fight another day.
