Jonathan Rea is no stranger to motocross. In fact, the current World Superbike points leader told us in a recent interview that his roots are in the dirt, and that before switching to roadracing he was intent on making a name for himself in motocross. Clearly, roadracing is how the Ulsterman makes a living now, but he still argues that the skills acquired on the dirt are the best tools to be used on a roadrace bike and that there's no better way to train for racing.
After the WSBK round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Jonathan Rea was able to spend a few days in Southern California with his friends from Kawasaki. Relaxing, jet skiing, and touring Kawasaki’s motocross headquarters were on his agenda, but what Rea was probably more excited about was putting some of those aforementioned moto skills to the test in a day at the track with “The King of Supercross,” Jeremy McGrath.
