New Product: The First Family of Racing Book

Earl Hayden, father of Tommy, Nicky, and Roger Lee Hayden, releases his first book

Earl Hayden, the father of 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden and AMA Pro Road Racing National Champions Tommy and Roger Hayden, has released his first book, titled The First Family of Racing.

Dying to hear some untold Hayden-bros stories? This could be the book for you, according to the description of the book on the General Store website: “Fans will laugh at funny family stories, relive racing memories, and enjoy Earl’s firsthand account of growing up in a small town, falling in love with racing, raising kids, seeing the world along the MotoGP circuit, and surviving cancer with faith and hope.”

In the book, Hayden talks about teaching his children to ride, then crisscrossing the country with all five kids (Nicky’s two sisters included), watching them race, and eventually become US and world champions.

“I’ve been blessed to have a great life so far, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to share it,” said Earl, who is donating his portion of the proceeds from this book to St. Joseph’s Peace Mission for Children, an emergency shelter for abused children in the Hayden family’s hometown of Owensboro, Kentucky. “I’m really passionate about this charity, and I hope to see it do well. If this book can entertain people and help make a difference, I’ll be tickled pink.”

The First Family of Racing has a foreward by three-time 500cc Grand Prix World Champion Kenny Roberts and is just under 200 pages long. The book will sell for $20 and can be purchased online through the General Store website and Amazon.
