As of model year 2016, the K 1600 GT / GTL and GTL Exclusive will not just be available in new paint finishes. With a view to enhanced motorcycling safety, their range of standard features is extended to include the banking-optimised ABS Pro and the dynamic brake light (dynamic brake light currently for EU markets only).
As of model year 2016, the BMW S 1000 XR will be available with the following new feature: Dynamic brake light as a special equipment feature in conjunction with the options ABS Pro and Riding Modes Pro (dynamic brake light currently for EU markets only).
As of model year 2016, the R 1200 GS will not just be available in new paint finishes. With a view to enhanced motorcycling safety, the range of special equipment features is extended to include the banking-optimised ABS Pro and the dynamic brake light (in conjunction with the Riding Modes Pro option). An overview of the new features in the R 1200 GS:
- ABS Pro and dynamic brake light as a special equipment feature (dynamic brake light currently for EU markets only).
- Light white non-metallic replaces the existing Alpine white 3 non-metallic.
- The paint finish Black storm metallic will no longer be available.
BMW R 1200 GS TripleBlack (special model): The central fuel tank cover, fuel tank side panels and front mudguard in Black storm metallic together with black anodised fork slider tubes give the legendary travel enduro a strikingly masculine touch. Powerful technical accentuations are provided by the front and rear frame in Agate Grey in combination with the engine, gearbox and swinging arm. The special model is fitted with the cross-spoke wheels with black gloss rim base familiar from the R 1200 GS Adventure, previously available as a special equipment feature. A new black-grey seat with striking "GS" application on passenger seat rounds off the strong appearance of the new R 1200 GS TripleBlack.
As of model year 2016, the BMW R nineT will be available with the following new special equipment features:
- Hand-brushed naked/exposed aluminium fuel tank with smoothed welding seams.
- Hand-brushed naked/exposed aluminium fuel tank with visible welding seams.
- Heated grips.
The R nineT Scrambler finds its roots in a racing version of the R 68 model from the early '50s. Featuring the company's air/oil-cooled boxer twin motor, the Scrambler deviates from the base R nineT roadster in typical scrambler fashion with a raised exhaust, increased suspension travel, a larger, 19-inch front wheel and more relaxed ergonomics. The Scrambler also features a wide variety of options and accessories for customization, including spoked wheels, off-road tires, a one-person seat, engine guard, number plates and a windshield.
BMW has unveiled a completely new addition to its roadster lineup, the single-cylinder G 310 R. The new model is intended for the world market and manufactured in India, and "takes the typical BMW premium aspiration to the segment under 500cc." The new model is powered by a fuel-injected 313cc single with an output of 34 horsepower and 21 foot-pounds of torque, with a six-speed transmission and chain drive.
