Team H35 Honda has announced that former Red Bull Rookies Cup competitor and long-time Honda-mounted roadracer Benny Solis, Jr., will compete in the 2017 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship aboard the #35 Honda CBR600RR starting this weekend with Round 1 at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.
"I'm very excited to start the season!" Benny commented. "Now that we have a full race season under our belt with the new engine/electronics package, we have more experience, and I'm really looking forward to racing again in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. My father and the team have been working really hard, and we've had a great off-season. I can't wait to get to COTA. Our entire team is extra-motivated to maximize our potential!
“I’m also thrilled to be working with Marco Bonneso again this season, who is our Team H35 Honda crew chief. Marco has worked with several teams in MotoGP, Moto2, and World Superbike. He’s a very important part of our program, along with our data technician Jason Paredez, our mechanic Efrain Pardinas, and of course, my dad Ben Solis, who is our lead mechanic and team owner.”
Mike Snyder, Senior Manager of Marketing at American Honda Motor Company, said, “We are proud to continue our support of Benny Solis and his Team H35 for the 2017 season. Benny has put a lot of work into his program, his personal training, and interaction with the fans, and we look forward to seeing him and his Honda CBR600RR at the front of the pack! We encourage all of Benny’s fans to join us at COTA this weekend for the start of the 2017 MotoAmerica Championship!"
