Aprilia to Enter MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 Class

Italian manufacturer will team up with Houston Superbikes and field two riders for 2015 season

The first race of the 2015 MotoAmerica series is just around the corner, yet manufacturers, race teams, and riders are still making some big announcements. Most recently, Aprilia USA announced that it will officially compete in the MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 class.

The last time that Aprilia was officially involved in racing stateside was in 2009, when Chaz Davies raced for the Factory Aprilia Millennium Technologies Team in the Daytona SportBike class, aboard an RSV1000R. Davies took home two second place finishes that year, and finished 9th overall. For 2015, Aprilia has paired with HSBK Racing, who in 2014 helped take Dustin Dominguez to a second place finish in the SuperSport championship.

According to Aprilia, the newly formed Aprilia HSBK Racing Team will have two riders, and will race Aprilia RSV4 Factory machines. The two rider line-up will be announced at a later date, Aprilia says. For now, we'll revel in the idea that more manufacturers are coming out to play in 2015.
