#RideHVMC Freeman Racing Ducati FDNY Tribute

Superstock 1000 racer Corey Alexander will honor fallen fire fighters this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park

On September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks killed nearly 3,000 people and injured more than 6,000 others in New York, Washington D.C., and rural Pennsylvania. Round nine of the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship, the Yamaha Superbike Challenge of New Jersey, falls on the 15th anniversary of those tragic events.

This weekend, #RideHVMC Freeman Racing Ducati will honor the men and women of Fire Department New York (FDNY) with special "Engine 23" livery on its Superstock 1000-spec Panigale 1199 R and custom Spidi leathers worn by Corey Alexander. The team is based at Hudson Valley Motorcycles in Ossining, New York, less than an hour from Manhattan.

“Ideally, we would have done two different designs, one for the FDNY and one for the NYPD,” Alexander said. “But we don’t have unlimited resources. Maybe we will have another opportunity in the future.”Brian Nitto/55 Productions

“Fire engine” red with prominent yellow and white stripes, the Italian V-twin’s unique color scheme replicates in detail a typical FDNY apparatus. Further, Spidi duplicated the design of the turnout gear worn by those fire fighters. Alexander will unveil a matching Arai helmet this weekend at NJMP.

“Every year, our home race at New Jersey Motorsport Park falls near September 11,” said Alexander, a native New Yorker. “This year, when we realized the dates aligned and the race day fell on the 11th, we felt it was absolutely necessary to do something to really honor the brave men and women of the FDNY.

“I was only seven years old at that time and didn’t understand the magnitude of the events unfolding, but I continue to feel the impact they had on our city, state, and country. It’s a tremendous honor to showcase this special livery, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.”

MotoAmerica television partner beIN SPORTS is scheduled to feature the bike and leathers in a segment produced at NJMP. As part of Ducati’s 90th anniversary celebration, HVMC will display its Superstock 1000 machines along with the following models under the #RideHVMC Freeman Racing Ducati tent in the MotoAmerica paddock:
