Onboard Video: One Lap Aboard The 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R At The Losail International Circuit

Take a spin on The Beast 2.0 with Cycle World’s associate editor

KTM’s 1290 Super Duke R has always made for a surprisingly capable track bike. Whereas a good majority of tall, wide-bar naked bikes start to feel out of their element soon as speeds and rider inputs start to increase, the Duke simply keeps on asking for more. It’s fast, planted, and buckets of fun.

For 2017, KTM has updated the package to build on all that performance. A smoother engine, improved electronic rider-aid suite, and refined suspension package mean it's not only a better street bike but also a touch above its predecessor on the track too.

To help drive that point home, KTM recently invited us to the Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar, where we quickly went about strapping a GoPro to our helmet in hopes of taking you along for the ride. What's The Beast 2.0 really like on a fast, flowing GP circuit? Click play to find out.

And don't forget, if you haven't read our full first ride review on the bike, you can do so here: 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R First Ride Review.

Enjoy the ride (and don’t forget to share it with your friends if you did)!
