Daytona Diary: CW RealTime Coverage of the 2008 Daytona 200

Thanks to a late-winter storm, complete with a day-long tornado watch, last night's AMA Supercross race was a mud fest won by Honda’s Kevin Windham. The storm blew itself out overnight, and we now have cloudy skies and high winds for the 67th running of the Daytona 200.

Honda factory rider and former World Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson is on pole for the 200, just .089 seconds ahead of Attack Kawasaki ZX-6R-mounted Chaz Davies. Last year's winner, Steve Rapp, qualified third on a second Attack Kawasaki. Five-time 200 winner Miguel Duhamel rounds out the front row. Three European brands made the grid: four Ducati 848s, four BMW HP2 Sports and four Triumph 675s. A single Buell XB12R represents the USA.

Forty-five-mph winds at the raceway delayed today's racing program. The 200 will air live on Speed Channel at 2 p.m. EST, with Superbike scheduled to follow at 4:58 p.m. EST. During breaks in the coverage, please check out our CW RealTime and post your comments and questions. We'll bring you more news as it happens.
