Wheeler's World: Pre-Season Testing 2007

Rain, rain and more rain.

Here we go again. Pre-season testing for the AMA Superbike series was a washout, literally. Laguna? Cancelled. Fontana? Shortened and rescheduled. Upside is that the start of the year could possibly create some interesting racing as the teams continue to sort themselves out. With only a few days left until Daytona kicks off the 2007 season, we'll soon see what transpires.Testing is a good time for low-key networking, and it allowed me the chance to share with some of the riders and teams my new 2006 AutoMoto Photo Review. Jason and Jim DiSalvo were kind enough to purchase a copy each, but only after Jason jokingly quipped, “As long as there are at least two photos of me in there.”

That was possibly the high spot of the couple days I spent at California Speedway. At least this year I found a hotel that wasn't surrounded by trucks stops.

Watch for “Wheeler's World” from Daytona in a couple weeks.
