The YZ125X is in what you could call a rare class. The eighth-liter two-stroke powerplant is the smallest displacement among the full-size bikes, though it’s not necessarily a beginner bike. This high-strung competition bike is built for racing, and you’ll often find young motocrossers and off-road racers cutting their teeth in the amateur ranks aboard the YZ125X. You’ll find it featured in the Pro-Am classes of national championships such as the Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC) and the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS).
Closely based on its YZ125 motocross sibling, the YZ125X shares a chassis, featuring the same aluminum frame and KYB suspension, although the X receives softer suspension tuned for off-road conditions. It also features an 18-inch rear wheel, kickstand, larger rear sprocket, sealed O-ring chain, and power tuned to deliver a wider range..
New for 2025 the Yamaha YZ125X receives only minor upgrades including toolless fork compression adjust knobs for easy on-the-fly suspension adjustments, a water-resistant PVC handlebar pad, and some fresh graphics.
The 2025 Yamaha YZ125X is available in Yamaha blue for $7199.
