Watch Sport Rider Magazine's New "Speed Dreams" Video

It's one part inspiration, two parts motorcycle

"Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life." Cliché? Maybe. True? I like to think so. So too does Michael Gilbert, a MotoAmerica Superstock 600 race winner and close friend of mine busy chasing his dream of becoming a professional motorcycle racer while also working full time as the Associate Editor at Cycle World's sister publication, Sport Rider magazine.

Anyone who's ever really, truly gone after their dream (in any sport or life venture) knows the level of dedication and work required to succeed, and Gilbert's story isn't any different. To give us an idea of what it's took to grow in both worlds, Gilbert and Sport Rider have launched this video, "Speed Dreams."

In the video, the Californian talks about the work that goes into attaining sponsors, staying fit, and finding the balance between work and racing. “Both can be fun,” he says. And I don’t think there’s anyone out there who would disagree.

Personally, I think Michael’s done well for himself and succeeded in the whole “choosing a job that you love” bit. Not that he’s not "working."

If you've ever pushed for something that you really, really wanted to succeed in, then I think you'll enjoy the video. It's really well put together and makes a good argument for going out and putting the work in. And I'm not saying that because Michael is a friend of mine; I really do believe this video is good inspiration.
