The 2025 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship kicked off with a historic event at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice, Poland. For the first time ever, electric motorcycles competed alongside traditional combustion bikes, made possible by the collaborative efforts of the event promoter, FIM, and key industry players, including Stark Future.
The debut of the groundbreaking Stark VARG EX marked a significant milestone in electric racing, showcasing its competitiveness and reliability at the highest level of competition.
While Taddy Blazusiak’s much-anticipated return after a year-long hiatus had its challenges, Eddie Karlsson delivered a standout performance, firmly establishing the Stark VARG EX as a contender in this new era of SuperEnduro.
Eddie Karlsson #42 – A Strong Start to the Season
Eddie Karlsson rose to the occasion, delivering consistency, speed, and determination throughout the evening. His performance proved that electric motorcycles can compete successfully and safely with combustion bikes even on demanding SuperEnduro tracks
Qualifying: Karlsson set an impressive 4th-place time of 41.173 seconds, a strong start to his campaign.
- SuperPole: Karlsson’s skills and the Stark VARG EX’s cutting-edge performance shone through as he clinched 3rd place with a blistering 40.840-second lap.
- Race 1: Karlsson worked through traffic to secure a solid 5th-place finish.
- Race 2: Starting from the second row on a slippery track, he managed to fight his way to 8th place.
- Race 3: A consistent ride saw Karlsson finish 5th again, matching his result from the opening race.
Taddy Blazusiak #111
A Tough Night overall
Six-time SuperEnduro World Champion and fan favorite Taddy Blazusiak faced a tough night at his home race. While showing flashes of promise, adjustments required by FIM regulations—including limitations to power output and additional bike weight—added to the challenges.
- Qualifying: 8th place with a time of 44.218 seconds, Blazusiak pushed hard to deliver his best in front of a passionate Polish crowd:
- Race 1: Taddy battled through the field to secure 8th place, earning valuable championship points.
- Race 2: Unfortunately, mechanical issues, compounded by the regulation adjustments, led to his retirement with a DNF.
- Race 3: Following further challenges, Blazusiak made the decision not to start the final race of the night.
Stark Future Racing traveled to the Palais des Sports in Grenoble, France, for the tenth and final round of the 2024 SX Tour—the largest and most prestigious domestic supercross championship in Europe. The team fielded a full lineup: Jorge Zaragoza, Jack Brunell, Yannis Irsuti, Eddie Wade, and Justin Bogle.
The ten-round series showcased some of Europe’s top talent, and after the final battles on Grenoble’s soft and challenging terrain, Stark Future secured three top-ten championship finishes.
SX Tour Highlights
- Jorge Zaragoza (SX1): Zaragoza built up his pace throughout the weekend, finishing 4th and 6th on Friday and Saturday, respectively—just shy of his first podium. These results earned him 7th overall for the season.
- Jack Brunell (SX1): Brunell improved from 9th on Friday to 7th on Saturday, securing 10th place in the championship.
- Justin Bogle (SX1): Despite grabbing a top-ten finish on Friday, a mid-heat tangle during qualifying forced him into the Last Chance race, preventing a Saturday Main Event appearance.
- Yannis Irsuti (SX2): Irsuti posted a 7- 6 scorecard over the weekend, narrowly missing podium positions as he adapted to the softer, rutted track. He finished 5th overall in the SX2 class.
- Eddie Wade (SX2): Wade secured 11th and 8th place finishes, capping off a challenging season with 16th place overall.
Stark Future Racing will rest their Supercross activity for the year but SuperEnduro and Arenacross will be in full swing.
Keep your eyes on Kelana Humphrey, Trevor Stewart and many more while they face more tests in the AMA Arenacross series and will make sure the Stark VARG technology keeps the speed into the early phases of 2025.
