Triumph has just announced two more special editions joining the already packed list of one-year-only Bonneville models available for 2022. The latest Bonnies to get an added trim package are the Thruxton RS and Street Twin, each now with its own London-motorcycle-culture-inspired package.
The 2022 Street Twin EC1 gets its name from a postcode in London’s East End. This particular part of the city has always been known for its motorcycle culture, which Triumph is honoring with this special edition. The EC1 Street Twin gets a Matte Aluminum Silver and Matte Silver Ice paint scheme with hand-painted pinstriping on the gas tank. Dedicated graphics on the tank and side cover help further distinguish this limited model, and an accessory fly screen is also available if you owners want to cap off the look. This version is available only $750 more than the stock Street Twin’s MSRP at $10,350.
The Ace Cafe is widely recognized as the birthplace of cafe racer culture, so it’s no surprise that Triumph has done more than a few cafe-inspired designs over the years. Those familiar with the culture will undoubtedly know the expression “do the ton,” which means take a motorcycle to 100 mph. As the quickest bike in the Bonneville lineup and one of the best representations, if not the best, of a modern cafe racer, the Thruxton RS seemed the obvious choice for this special Ton Up Edition, inspired by the ton-up boys who often occupied the cafe. With its Aegean Blue fuel tank, black knee pad graphics, and the white cafe seat cowl with its large red “100″ graphic, there’s no mistaking the new Ton Up Edition. A full color-matched cockpit fairing is also available as an accessory for riders who want the full-faired look. Priced at $17,300, the Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition is only $800 more than the base Thruxton RS model.
Both bikes are expected in Triumph dealerships by January of 2022. For more information, check triumphmotorcycles.com.
