Imagine renting one of your favorite racetracks for a day, sharing it with some of your closest friends, and having a Yamaha R1 at your disposal — that’s what Valentino Rossi gets to do, and here’s the video to prove it.
Of course being a nine-time world champion helps make it happen, but it’s all hard work for Rossi. During a recent VR46 Riders Academy day held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, GoPro strapped a camera to the top of Rossi’s helmet and delivered this onboard lap worth watching. Based on the video, the Italian surely isn’t taking a leisurely ride in the park, but instead taking advantage of private track time to improve his riding for when it comes time to hop back on his Yamaha M1 — which also may be one of the reasons why he is still competitive at 37 years old.
We may never learn what's going on inside Valentino Rossi’s head while he’s on track, but I'd say footage from the top of it may be the next best thing.
Turn up the volume, sit back, and enjoy riding with “The Doctor!”
