Video: Highlights from the MotoAmerica Supersport Races at Indy

A champion is crowned, plus Triumph almost gets its first win of the season

JD Beach became the first ever MotoAmerica Supersport champion this past weekend at Indianapolis. That's the short story. The long story is that Josh Herrin still had a chance at the title before Saturday's Supersport race was red flagged and restarted, the former AMA SuperBike champion ultimately crashing out on the first lap of the restart. Garrett Gerloff would go on to win the race, with Bobby Fong finishing a close second on the Latus Motors Racing Triumph Daytona 675R.

With just the two races at New Jersey Motorsports Park remaining, Beach has an insurmountable 57-point lead over Gerloff, who moved ahead of the non-scoring Herrin by five points with his victory at Indy. The win was Gerloff's first since round two at Road Atlanta.

The Supersport race was streamed live on motortrendondemand.com, but in case you missed it, MotoAmerica has released a highlight video (above) which gives you a look at how close the action was. Crashes, a photo finish, and a Triumph going up against a Yamaha for victory—what more could you want? Besides, yes, we know, to watch it same day on TV.
