Video: Here's How You Change the Shield on Arai's New Corsair-X Helmet

New helmet, new sheild system. Here's how to work it.

So you just bought a new Arai Corsair-X helmet (or plan on ordering one) and have decided to replace the helmet's clear shield with a smoked one. The change should be pretty straightforward, right? Well, it is and it isn't.

In fact, we already mentioned in our review on the Corsair-X (you can read the review here) that the process for changing shields on the Corsair-X has changed as a result of Arai moving to its new Variable Access System, and that the process can seem a bit burdensome at first. No, you don't have to pat your head and rub your stomach while counting to 10 and pushing the shield's pins back in place, but you do need to remember to have the shield in the correct position for each step of the process (full up to remove pods, half open to remove shield, full up to re-install side pods, etc.).

Here, in a video from Arai, are the step-by-step instructions for how to get the job done without breaking anything or having to dig deep into your bag of curse words... Check it out if you're currently trying to swap shields on your new Corsair-X or just curious as to how the new VAS system works.
