Humanoid robot intended to ride motorcycle on the race track

Yamaha has unveiled Motobot Version 1 at the Tokyo Motor Show, a humanoid robot that is capable of riding a motorcycle.

Built by Yamaha Research and Development team in Iwata, the objective was to create a robot capable of riding a production motorcycle (a YZF-R1M as seen in the video and images) at speeds in excess of 125 mph on the race track. According to Yamaha, the technology learned from the project will be applied to more advanced electronic safety systems in the future.
