Triumph announces new Special Edition Speed Triple and Bonneville

Speed Triple SE features a blue frame, tank stripes, color-matched fly screen, belly pan and seat cowl, plus extensive carbon fiber to complete the unique, premium look

Triumph has announced the impending release of two Special Edition models for 2013: the new Speed Triple SE and Bonneville SE.

The Special Edition Speed Triple is based on the current Triumph model, powered by the company’s alluring 1050cc three-cylinder engine. Featuring a distinctive blue paint application to the frame and swingarm, the Speed Triple SE comes in a Matte Graphite color motif with twin Matte Blue decals.

The newest Speed Triple also gets sprinkled with the lightweight treatment, with carbon fiber front mudguard, side pods, tank cover panel and inner radiator panels. The color-matched fly screen, belly pan and seat cowl all come as standard, as well as neat finishing details such as a rubber tank pad and clear rear light. A restyled clutch, alternator and sprocket cover further enhance the Special Edition Speed Triple’s makeover. And lastly, the new dynamic look of the Triumph is finished off with blue wheel pinstripes, revised mirrors, and black silencer heat shields, handlebars and clamps.

The Triumph Special Edition Bonneville is likewise based on the standard model, with the same 865cc air/oil-cooled vertical twin-cylinder engine surrounded by plenty of chrome and retro styling enhanced by modern cast aluminum wheels. The Special Edition model features a bold red frame contrasting with the Matte Black/Cranberry Red color scheme on the fenders, fuel tank, and side covers. The Bonneville SE is more than just paint, however; new front turn signal indicators and headlight (similar to the Thruxton) plus new black mirrors change the forward half, while the rear end sees the addition of a black passenger grab rail. A new “bash plate” protects the lower front section of the frame rails. Completing the look is a unique seat design utilizing a new vinyl covering and distinctive stitching.

Both new Special Edition machines will be available through your local Triumph dealer from May 1, 2013. The Bonneville SE is priced at $7999 while the Speed Triple SE will retail for $13,399.
