More than 15 years after its introduction, the big ’Busa is still a force to be reckoned with. In our road test after the bike’s 2013 update, we said it’s “just a few bolt-on parts away from completely obliterating your senses.” Then we went on to do just that, adding a few bits for a 175-hp bike that turned a 9.56-second quarter-mile pass. MSRP is the same as last year, and new colors for ’15 are black/gray and blue/silver.

Suzuki GSX-R1000 $13,899
Engine: L-C 16V 999 inline-four | Seat Height: 31.9 in. | Curb Weight: 448 lb.

While we pointed out in our 2012 literbike comparison test—the most recent update year for the GSX-R1000—that we were hoping for a cosmetic redesign, we also noted that “we simply can’t argue with the Suzuki’s overall performance.” That remains true today, and we are always looking for an excuse to have a GSX-R1000 in the shop as a project bike. MSRP is unchanged from ’14, and new colors are blue/white or black/gray.

Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS/Adventure $12,699/$13,999
Engine: L-C 8V 1037 V-twin | Seat Height: 33.4 | Curb Weight: 503 lb./NA

After a short hiatus in 2013, the big V-Strom returned last year with a host of upgrades, including standard ABS, a nine-way-adjustable windscreen, slip/assist clutch, and Suzuki’s first traction control system. Suzuki claims “there is no road the all-new V-Strom 1000 ABS Adventure was not made to conquer.” The Adventure model (shown here) adds an under cowl, hand guards, touring windscreen, side cases, and engine bars.

2015 Suzuki GSX-S1000F

2015 Suzuki GSX-S1000F Metallic Triton Blue

An early-release 2016 model, the GSX-S1000F features an older-generation GSX-R1000 engine retuned for low-end and midrange torque combined with comfortable ergonomics and top-shelf chassis components. ABS and a three-mode traction control system are standard, and the aluminum frame is specific to the GSX-S models. MSRP and some specifications were unavailable as we went to press; Metallic Triton Blue is the only color offering.

The naked version of the all-new 2016 GSX-S1000 is identical to the F model but with a fly screen and radiator shrouds replacing the full fairing. ABS is an option, while Suzuki’s Traction Control System is standard equipment. Debuting on the ’14 V-Strom 1000, the three-way adjustable (plus off) TCS monitors front and rear wheel speeds, throttle position, rpm, and gear; power is managed via ignition timing and secondary throttle plates.

Suzuki GSX-R750 $12,299

Wheelbase: 54.7 in. | Rake: 23.5° | Trail: 97mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.5 gal.
2015 Suzuki GSX-R750

2015 Suzuki GSX-R750 Metallic Triton Blue / Pearl Glacier White

This Metallic Triton Blue/Pearl Glacier White graphics option, offered on all three GSX-R models for this year, commemorates Suzuki’s return to the MotoGP championship with the GSX-RR. While the MV Agusta F3 800 and Ducati 899 Panigale could be considered contenders, the GSX-R750 remains atop a class of one in our book, as it offers the nimble feel of a 600 but the power of a larger-displacement machine.

Suzuki GSX-R600 $11,199
Engine: L-C 16V 599 inline-four | Seat Height: 31.9 in. | Curb Weight: 412 lb.
Wheelbase: 54.5 in. | Rake: 23.5° | Trail: 97mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.5 gal.

The middleweight class has been stagnant for a couple of years, meaning the GSX-R600 is still number one in our book, as it won our most recent comparison test in 2013. Like the 1000 and 750, the GSX-R600 is also offered in the MotoGP-inspired blue/white graphics; the other option is white/black this year. Perhaps the biggest news about the GSX-R600 is that the price drops a significant $500, bringing it more in line with the competition.

Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS/Adventure $8549/$10,049
Engine: L-C 8V 645 V-twin | Seat Height: 32.9 in. | Curb Weight: 472 lb./NA
Wheelbase: 61.4 in. | Rake: 26.0° | Trail: 110mm | Fuel Capacity: 5.3 gal.

2015 Suzuki V-Strom 650 Blue

The Wee-Strom, as it’s affectionately known, is probably not the first bike you’d think of as an entry-level sportbike, but its capabilities in that arena would definitely surprise you—as it did us the first time we rode one. A longtime favorite of the SR staff, the V-Strom returns unchanged this year in white or blue. The Adventure model, offered in gray, includes aluminum side bags, accessory engine bar, and an adjustable windscreen.

Suzuki GSX-S750/Z $7999/$8148
Engine: L-C 16V 749 inline-four | Seat Height: 30.9 in. | Curb Weight: 470 lb.
Wheelbase: 57.1 in. | Rake: 25.0° | Trail: 104mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.6 gal.
2015 GSX-S750

2015 GSX-S750 Metallic Matte Black No. 2

This bike was a welcome surprise at Suzuki’s 2015 dealer meeting; the GSX-S is powered by a previous-generation GSX-R750 motor (2005 or earlier is our guess) tuned with city streets in mind. The base model is available in black; the Z version gets gold-anodized outer fork tubes, red-anodized fork adjuster bolts, a red shock spring, and a blue chain, with bodywork in a blue/white scheme similar to the GSX-S1000 models.

Suzuki SFV650 $7699
Engine: L-C 8V 645 V-twin | Seat Height: 30.9 in. | Curb Weight: 445 lb.
Wheelbase: 56.9 in. | Rake: 25.0° | Trail: 107mm | Fuel Capacity: 3.8 gal.

“The SFV650 helps define a unique motorcycling experience,” Suzuki says of the former Gladius. While we still lament the loss of the SV650 models from the company’s lineup, the SFV is a worthy replacement and has a lot to offer entry-level and progressing sportbike riders thanks to its versatile V-twin powerplant. Best news for this year is a $450 price cut that makes the SFV650 an even more attractive option.

Suzuki DR-Z400SM $7189
Engine: L-C 4V 398 single | Seat Height: 35.0 in. | Curb Weight: 321 lb.
Wheelbase: 57.5 in. | Rake: 26.0° | Trail: 94mm | Fuel Capacity: 2.6 gal.
2015 Suzuki DR-Z400SM

2015 Suzuki DR-Z400SM

There hasn’t been much activity on the supermotard front lately, but Suzuki continues to offer its DR-Z400SM, a completely street-legal version of the DR-Z400S with an inverted fork, oversize brake, and 17-inch wheels with wide, sticky tires. Sounds like fun (and a few tickets) to us. No changes for 2015 to this model, and price remains the same; the black/white color combo has gold highlights and matching gold-anodized rims.

Suzuki GW250 /F $4099/$4499
Engine: L-C 4V 248 inline-twin | Seat Height: 30.7 in. | Curb Weight: 403/417 lb.
Wheelbase: 56.3 in. | Rake: 26.0° | Trail: 105mm | Fuel Capacity: 3.5 gal.

2015 Suzuki GW250F Pearl Nebular Black

While it may not have the sex appeal of some other 250/300cc sportbikes that are available, the GW250 is comfortable, very well put together and enjoyable to ride. We also pointed out in our road test that, “You’ll probably never get a speeding ticket,” an added bonus. The standard model is offered in black/red this year; new for 2015 is the F model shown here, which has a full fairing and windscreen and is available in all black.
