I bet it’s not hard to agree that the hardest part of racing motorcycles against your buddies is handing over the hard-earned money to do so. Over the course of a race weekend everything from food to tire bills begin piling up and for most, can be difficult to pay. But what if there was some way to cover your costs? Or at least some of it? If that were the case, we would be racing a lot more than we do now!
Luckily, KTM has caught on to the average racer’s dreams and is here to help. The company introduced its new “Race for Free” program that is aimed to help assist club racers by paying for their race entries. Of course, there are requirements to be eligible for the program. Shockingly, you must ride a KTM; a 2015 or 2016 KTM RC 390 to be exact. And, only entries for CCS, CVMA, AFM, and CMRA races can be put on KTM’s tab.
But it’s a step in the right direction. It seems the days of manufacturer support at the club level isn’t quite over. We hope to see KTM’s program as well as other brand’s support of road racing continue to grow into what it once was.
