New Ducati Monster 1200 R to debut Sept 14

New Monster to get "a more powerful engine, a sportier chassis and an advanced design"

Ducati will reveal its new Monster 1200 R on September 14, with upgrades to the engine, chassis, and electronics said to be included.

Ducati Motor Holding has announced that it will unveil the new Monster 1200 R on September 14 during its parent corporation's Volkswagen Group Night in Frankfurt. The company gathering will be held just before the IAA 2015 (Internationale Automobilausstellung in Frankfurt am Main) Auto Show opens, where the new Monster 1200 R will be on displayed for the very first time at the Audi booth.

In a release previewing that event, Ducati states that the new Monster 1200 R will feature, "a more powerful engine, a sportier chassis, and an advanced design." All signs point to the latest Testastretta DVT with variable valve timing currently used by the Multistrada 1200 being inserted into the latest Monster, along with a version of the Multistrada 1200 S's Öhlins Skyhook electronic semi-active suspension package.

Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.
