Rain started to fall just before riders rolled out for their sighting lap and didn't let up through the entire race. Roberts, who was making just his third start in the Supersport class (previous two at Indy), passed Tomas Puerta and teammate Josh Herrin in the opening laps and began to open up a gap. The gap would climb to upwards of 17 seconds before Roberts put his Meen Motorsports R6 in cruise mode and rode to his first Supersport race win.

Hayden Gillim, Bobby Fong, Tomas Puerta, and Javelin Broderick all crashed but remounted.
