#CRASHALERT: MotoAmerica rider Joshua Day was taken to the hospital and appears to not have any serious injuries.

Occasional video footage of freak crashes can make us cringe from time to time. Unfortunately, Josh Day has been the feature of the footage more than once in the past two months. At Road Atlanta in mid-April, the MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 rider launched himself and his Yamaha R1 to the moon before screaming back to back to orbit in dramatic fashion. Day ended up walking away with only a broken thumb.

Today, Josh Day put his Atlanta launch on replay during MotoAmerica Free Practice 3 at Road America. Day’s Yamalube/Westby Racing team R1 steps sideways on the entrance to turn 6, before flinging him into the air in what has to be one of the biggest highsides we’ve ever seen.

Fortunately, Day Was transported to the local hospital and reportedly has no serious injuries. Lucky is an understatement.
