MotoAmerica: Watch Elias Earn “Scud Missle” Nickname at Mazda Raceway

Former Moto2 World Champion Toni Elias has embraced the unlikely nickname bestowed upon him by four-time AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes following the second of two MotoAmerica Superbike races held this past July at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

“This one had the end result that I was looking for in the first one,” Hayes said after his victory at the Central California track. “Like I said on the podium, I got tired of holding my breath and closing my eyes so much waiting for the Spanish Scud Missile. Every time I made a mistake, it was like, ‘Oh, no, here it comes.’
