Indian Scout FTR1200 Custom Dyno

Indian’s street-legal flat-tracker prototype spits out numbers

Indian Motorcycle recently unveiled a street-legal "custom," combining its winning chrome-moly flat-track chassis with the 1,133cc Scout motor. It's the bike many of us have been begging Indian for, and now—while we have no word of any production model coming down the pike—the Minnesota manufacturer has just given us hope that we might someday see this beast become a reality.

"The Scout FTR1200 Custom is a celebration of the Indian Scout FTR750's dominant performance in American Flat Track. Inspired by the iconic style of the Scout FTR750, The Scout FTR1200 Custom is an exploration of what a street-legal tracker could look like."Indian Motorcycle

We ran the FTR1200 Custom on our dyno to see what kind of numbers it put down. Running fourth-gear pulls we got 98.83 hp at 7,640 rpm and 76.60 tq at 5,720 rpm out of the l iquid-cooled, 60-degree, 1,133cc V-twin motor with S&S Cycle Tracker exhaust .

"While we have all 10 fingers crossed hoping to see more evolve from this bike, right now Indian is sticking to its guns that "it's just a custom." If it is a concept, we're just praying it will be as close to this as possible."Morgan Gales
