None of us wants to think about the dark days of winter right now, but there are still some tasty gigs that serve to lessen the chill during that time of year. Top of the list is Progressive’s traveling series of moto shows that makes its way around the country over several of the colder months of the year.

We can start planning for those months already, since Progressive has just announced the upcoming dates for the 39th edition of the annual International Motorcycle Show series. The newest wrinkle for this year's tour is the addition of Denver, Colorado to the show schedule, giving more midwest enthusiasts a chance to see the latest and greatest motorcycle models, parts, trends and accessories.

Returning to the 2019/2020 tour is the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show (UBCBS), sponsored by J&P Cycles, as well as the Marketplace presented by Cycle Gear, an interactive retail space allowing consumers to touch, test, and buy the latest gear, parts, and accessories from key aftermarket brands with specialists on hand to educate and answer questions to any gear needs.

But the eight-city U.S. tour is also a perfect opportunity to introduce friends and family who are interested in learning about bikes and maybe getting to take their first ride at Discover the Ride section of the show. The initiative is specifically designed to get new riders on two wheels in a controlled, low-speed environment. The program debuted at last year's 2018/2019 tour, and survey feedback from participants showed a high level of interest from the new riders taking it.

Stay tuned for more details about special guests, new model unveilings, attractions and ticket deals. Tickets for the 2019/2020 IMS tour go on sale September 5.
