Cycle World has history with naked bikes. And we even have history withHondanaked bikes. So it made perfect sense to get togetherthis year's Ride for Kids/Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation giveaway bikecalled "The Good Fight"—a 2010 Honda CBR1000RR donated by American Honda and customized into a naked streetfighter by Roland Sands Design—with an original CW project naked bike, a stripped down and punked up, bright-yellow 1993 Honda CBR900RR we called a "Standard on Steroids."

So, once RSD stripped all of the "unnecessaries" off the CBR1000RR and Honda re-prepped our old '93, this pair of tubular-handlebar-equipped literbikes were ready for a little training run.

And who better to give these two Hondas a shakedown run than Roland Sands himself. As an old racing adversary (we've taken each other out on the track!), I joined Sands for a winding-road run in the hills of Southern California before this pair of machines hit the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show circuit for display in the CW booth.

"It's always fun to ride with your crazy friends and when it's with someone as crazy as Cernicky, it can be nutso!" said Sands with a smile. "This was the case when we had the opportunity to ride the two yellow Hondas side by side in the amazing twisties that provided a killer backdrop for our hooligan ways.

"We had a blast and it was good to get reacquainted with our original Honda streetfighter, not to mention break in the newly converted CBR1000RR. As ever, Sands and crew did a top job on the project Honda, with AirTrix paint, Vortex foot controls, Vance & Hines exhaust, RSD wheels, Performance Machine brake calipers and Dunlop tires all adding up to a Ride for Kids giveaway bike that works, looks and sounds awesome. And riding with an old friend was extremely fun.

But the most amazing thing about The Good Fight is that some lucky person will eventually be riding it with their friends. Pick up your chance to win this Honda CBR1000RR for only $5 a ticket, or five or $20; Easy, big spender: 50 tickets max per person. Tickets are available on the PBTF website, by phone at 800/253-6530 or by mail to PBTF Motorcycle Drawing, 302 Ridgefield Ct., Asheville, NC 28806.
