A new decade, a new year, and Carey Hart is feeling altruistic again—and that’s obviously a good thing. On January 16, Hart will be again hosting Good Ride’s Tanks for Troops event, which in its 2020 iteration will showcase a unique selection of custom-designed Indian Motorcycle tanks. Good Ride is a 501(c)(3) charity organization started by the freestyle motocross rider turned streetbike builder to focus on giving back to the community.

And that’s the focus of the 2020 Tanks for Troops event, which includes a silent auction of the aforementioned custom-painted Indian Motorcycle FTR 1200 tank covers to raise funds for the Infinite Hero Foundation. This military charity exists to combat mental and physical illnesses affecting military heroes and their families, directly helping veterans in need. The one-of-a-kind tanks to be displayed will cover the subject gamut, ranging from tattoo and motorsport-flavored designs to fine art and military-inspired pieces.

The bidding goes live on Thursday, January 9, and closes at 9 p.m. on January 16. With 24 Indian Motorcycle tank covers designed by various artists (including his own daughter), Hart and his team are hoping to surpass the total funds they raised last time they did this, back in 2018. That year, Tanks for Troops rang up $30,000, and it all goes to support US military veterans and families who may be struggling with physical or mental challenges, and are in need of financial support and additional resources. You don't even need to be at the event to take part in the action, as bidding is open to all online, or via a mobile device.

It sure seems like a twofer to step up and support our military heroes while also becoming the proud owner of a very cool custom piece. With all proceeds benefiting the Infinite Hero Foundation, it’ll be a win either way.
