How Much Power Does The 2020 BMW R nineT Make?

Dyno numbers and video on Motorrad’s retro café racer.

The 2020 BMW R nineT is the German manufacturer’s take on a retro café racer and the basis for the rest of Motorrad’s “Heritage” lineup—including the R nineT Scrambler, Pure, and /5 submodels. The platform has been embraced as a blank canvas for a number of well-known builders as well as local shops. Powered by a burly 1,170cc, air-cooled, opposed-twin engine, the R nineT lets out a unique exhaust note as it rings out on the dyno, while being emotion evoking in the real world.

Prior to an upcoming comparison test, we tested the 2020 BMW R nineT on our in-house Cycle World Dynojet 250i dynamometer, recording horsepower and torque measurements. The BMW belted out 94.6 hp at 7,500 rpm and 72.9 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm.
