Video: Nicky Hayden's First Test on WSBK Honda CBR1000RR

Nicky Hayden's World Superbike career got its official start this week during a private test at MotorLand Aragón, where the former MotoGP World Champion had the admittedly tough job of familiarizing himself with a new bike, tires, brakes, and electronics.

Hayden, who is popularly known for being one of the hardest working guys in the paddock, doesn't deny that he and his new team have a lot of work ahead of them: "It was my first time on the CBR and you know I have a lot of work to do to adjust to different things. The day went very quick. Now we start the job and we see where we need to improve more. And let's keep going."

Surprisingly, the 34-year-old Kentucky native (who if successful in World Superbike, could become the first racer to win both a MotoGP World Championship and World Superbike Championship) still didn't seem too concerned about the challenge of getting accustomed to the bike, going on to say that, "It's my first time on production bike and a different motorcycle, but truthfully it's still just a motorcycle. I mean, yeah the forks and the suspension is a little different. The tires are different, the brakes, the engine. But I've got to remember to not come crazy thinking of this or that, it is a bike and I just have to ride it."

Hayden and the rest of the team will return to action next week (November 25-27) for a three-day test at Circuito de Jerez, the last outing before the winter testing ban.
