2015 Honda CBR1000RR SP

2015 Honda CBR1000RR SP Repsol

Following engine and ergonomic changes last year, Honda’s big CBR returns unchanged for ’15. The SP model, with Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, and hand-selected engine internals, also returns and is offered in this Repsol Edition to celebrate Marc Marquez’s 2014 MotoGP title. The standard model comes in white/blue/red, red, and Repsol colors, while the ABS model with Honda’s electronic Combined ABS is available in red.

Honda Interceptor/DLX - $12,499/$13,499

2015 Honda VFR800F Interceptor White

2015 Honda VFR800F Interceptor White

Making a surprise appearance last year—too late to make it into our ’14 Sportbike Buyer’s Guide—the Interceptor returned with some significant updates, including new engine internals, conventional radiator mounting, updated suspension, and a traditional exhaust replacing the previous under-seat mufflers. Deluxe model adds ABS, traction control, heated grips, and self-canceling turn signals. Both models are available in white or red.

Honda CBR600RR/ABS - $11,490/$12,490
Engine: L-C 16V 599 inline-four | Seat Height: 32.3 in. | Curb Weight: 410 lb.
Wheelbase: 53.9 in. | Rake: 23.5° | Trail: 98mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.8 gal.
2015 Honda CBR600RR

2015 Honda CBR600RR Red

Honda says its middleweight CBR is “just as happy to take you to class, to your job, or on a weekend ride as it is to carve a corner at Laguna Seca or Road Atlanta.” Last updated in ’13 with more aerodynamic bodywork, a Big Piston Fork, and new ECU settings, those changes “were not enough to keep Big Red ahead of the British or Japanese competition” in our middleweight comparison that year—our most recent in a now somewhat dormant class.

Honda CB1000R - $TBA
Engine: L-C 16V 998 inline-four | Seat Height: 32.1 in. | Curb Weight: 485 lb.
Wheelbase: 56.9 in. | Rake: 25.0° | Trail: 99mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.5 gal.
2015 Honda CB1000R

2015 Honda CB1000R Black

The no-frills CB1000R is offered in this very distinctive black/red combination for this year; otherwise, there are no changes. Its engine is derived from the ’07 CBR1000RR model and retuned for street duty, but the chassis is virtually all specific to the CB. Despite the bike first being offered in 2011 on a built-to-order basis, the CB1000R remains in Honda’s lineup based on its unique styling, good handling, and typically excellent Honda fit and finish.

Honda CB1100/DLX - $10,399/$11,899
Engine: A-C 16V 1140 inline-four | Seat Height: 31.2/31.3 in. | Curb Weight: 540/571 lb.
Wheelbase: 58.7 in. | Rake: 27.0° | Trail: 114mm | Fuel Capacity: 3.9/4.6 gal.
2014 Honda CB1100 Deluxe

2014 Honda CB1100 Deluxe

While technically a 2014 model, our sources at Honda tell us this retro air-cooled model (loaded with up-to-date technology) will be available through 2015. The CB was updated last year with a six-speed transmission and new gauge package; the base model is available in black, while the Deluxe version is offered in red and features a larger fuel tank, 4-into-2 exhaust system, ABS, and a classic-look seat cover.

Honda CBR650F/ABS - $8499/$8999
Engine: L-C 16V 649 inline-four | Seat Height: 31.9 in. | Curb Weight: 461/467 lb.
Wheelbase: 57.0 in. | Rake: 25.3° | Trail: 101mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.5 gal.
2015 Honda CBR650F Black

2015 Honda CBR650F Black

Another late addition from Honda last year, this middleweight has an upright riding position and a 649cc inline four-cylinder tuned for low-end power, all wrapped in sportbike styling and offered for a modest price. Honda refers to the bike as a “step-up” model from its new CB300R or the three 500cc models introduced in 2013. The standard 650 is offered in black, red, or blue this year; colors for the ABS version were not known at press time.

Honda NC700X/DCT ABS - $7799/$8799
Engine: L-C 8V 670 inline-twin | Seat Height: 32.7 in. | Curb Weight: 474/500 lb.
Wheelbase: 60.6 in. | Rake: 27.0° | Trail: 110mm | Fuel Capacity: 3.7 gal.
2015 Honda NC700X Red

2015 Honda NC700X Red

Drawing from Honda’s automotive arm (and parts bin), the NC’s low-revving twin-cylinder engine is unintimidating and gets great fuel mileage, making it fun and practical at a very affordable price. The DCT ABS model features Honda’s Dual-Clutch Transmission and can be shifted with a pushbutton or automatically. No updates for 2015; even the prices remain the same as last year. Both versions are available in red or black.

Honda CBR500R/ABS - $TBA
Engine: L-C 8V 471 inline-twin | Seat Height: 30.9 in. | Curb Weight: 425/429 lb.
Wheelbase: 55.5 in. | Rake: 25.5° | Trail: 103mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.1 gal.
2015 Honda CBR500R Silver

2015 Honda CBR500R Silver

Straddling what is a chasm for some riders between lightweight and middleweight sportbike offerings, the CBR500R strikes a nice balance between, for example, the CBR300R and CBR600RR with its 471cc inline twin-cylinder engine and sporty chassis. Expect list price to be close to last year’s $5,999 tag with ABS costing an extra $500. There are no mechanical changes for this year, and both the standard and ABS version are available in silver or black.

Honda CB500X/ABS - $TBA/$TBA
Engine: L-C 8V 471 inline-twin | Seat Height: 31.9 in. | Curb Weight: 430 lb./NA
Wheelbase: 55.9 in. | Rake: 26.5° | Trail: 109mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.5 gal.
2015 Honda CB500X

2015 Honda CB500X

The adventure version of Honda’s three 500s, the CB500X has more suspension travel than the R and F models (and a 1-inch-higher seat height), an adjustable windscreen, a larger fuel tank, and more upright ergonomics. An extensive list of accessories includes a centerstand, hand guards, heated grips, and a rear carrier. Like its siblings, there are no updates for this year aside from a new color: black/yellow for both the standard and ABS versions.

Honda CB500F/ABS - $TBA
Engine: L-C 8V 471 inline-twin | Seat Height: 30.9 in. | Curb Weight: 420/424 lb.
Wheelbase: 55.5 in. | Rake: 25.5° | Trail: 103mm | Fuel Capacity: 4.1 gal.
2015 Honda CB500F Red

2015 Honda CB500F Red

Look familiar now? The CB500F has the same chassis and engine specs as the CBR500R but has a more upright riding position and much less bodywork. We called our road test of the F model “The Better Twin” because we actually preferred the naked bike over the CBR in many situations and would recommend it over the CBR for newer riders especially. Color for the standard and ABS models this year is white/red.

Honda CBR300R/ABS - $4399/$4899
Engine: L-C 4V 286 single | Seat Height: 30.7 in. | Curb Weight: 357/364 lb.
Wheelbase: 54.3 in. | Rake: 25.3° | Trail: 98mm | Fuel Capacity: 3.4 gal.
2015 Honda CBR300R - Pearl White/Red/Blue

2015 Honda CBR300R - Pearl White/Red/Blue

After a long wait, Honda finally introduced the CBR300R as a 2015 model early last year to replace the CBR250R. A 37cc bump in displacement boosts peak horsepower by 17 percent, and fuel-injection mapping tweaks provide a crisper throttle response. Subtle changes include a CBR500R-inspired exhaust plus new seat and side covers for a shorter reach to the ground. Four color options are available for both standard and ABS versions.

Honda CB300F - $3999
Engine: L-C 4V 286 single | Seat Height: 30.7 in. | Curb Weight: 348 lb.
Wheelbase: 54.3 in. | Rake: 25.3° | Trail: 98mm | Fuel Capacity: 3.4 gal.
2015 Honda CB300F - Red

2015 Honda CB300F - Red

And yet another new model from Honda for ’15, this naked version of the CBR300R features that bike’s updates (including the larger displacement, new exhaust, seat, and side covers) but has a tiny fly screen instead of the R model’s full bodywork. The 300F also has slightly more upright ergonomics; an accessory seat for the CB300F (and the CBR300R) lowers seat height by an inch. No ABS version for the F, and it’s available in one color: red.

Honda Grom - $3199
Engine: A-C 2V 125 single | Seat Height: 29.7 in. | Curb Weight: 225 lb.
Wheelbase: 47.2 in. | Rake: 25.0° | Trail: 81mm | Fuel Capacity: 1.5 gal.

2015 Honda Grom - yellow

Introduced to the US last year, the Grom developed an immediate cult-like popularity thanks to its small size and big attitude. Honda says the Grom “has been celebrated as a unique, fun, impossible-to-pigeonhole motorcycle” and refers to it as a “cultural chameleon” due to its diverse following. The Grom is unchanged but offered in more colors this year, with yellow and white joining last year’s red and black.
