Touring is not for the faint of heart, which is probably why Moto Guzzi’s Norge GT 8V sells with such essentials as an electronically adjustable windscreen, vibration damping footrests, seat with body-forming foam, fairing design that promotes wind protection and noise reduction, in addition to a 6-gallon fuel tank. Even with that, Moto Guzzi says the Norge GT 8V is, at the same time, “fast and exciting to ride like a streetbike.”
Moto Guzzi says its Griso 8V SE is “the most exciting and spirited of all Moto Guzzi models,” a big claim that’s backed mostly by the bike’s transverse 90-degree V-twin worth a claimed 110 hp. Add Brembo calipers biting on 320mm discs, fully adjustable suspension, plus classic Italian styling, and you have a bike that really is as unique as Moto Guzzi claims. Colors for 2015 include this red with black only.
Everything old is new again, and Moto Guzzi’s V7 II Racer is proof. This bike, with 744cc transverse V-twin engine, and now, traction control and ABS, pays homage to the café racer motorcycles of yesteryear, while offering the maintenance schedule of a modern motorcycle. And that’s a good thing since the chrome 5.8-gallon fuel tank, together with reduced fuel consumption, ensures a range of up to 310 miles, according to Moto Guzzi.
Moto Guzzi’s V7 II Special and V7 II Stone were updated alongside the Racer and will also be available mid-2015 as ’16 models. Updates include traction control, ABS, and a new six-speed transmission, also shared with the Racer. “On this classic, all you need are big dreams and a wrist that’s ready to roll,” says Moto Guzzi about the Special. The Stone (shown), in contrast, is for anyone who wants a no frills, just thrills classic.
