Norton Launches First Teaser Video on Its New V4 Superbike

And even discusses pricing, which only hurts a little. Okay, a lot.

Norton is nearly ready to pull the wraps off of its new, 200-claimed-hp V4 Superbike, but just in case we weren’t excited enough, it’s decided to release a quick teaser video first. Along with it, they also dropped a couple of hints as to what we can expect from the new platform in terms of price and options.

First, Norton suggests that there will be two versions, a limited edition V4 Superbike and standard version, which share the same 1200cc V4 engine but are claimed to differ in terms of wheels, suspension, and more. The limited edition model will cost £44k ($54,500 at current exchange rate) and the standard model £28k ($34,700 at current exchange rate).

As was suggested ahead of Norton's first photo teaser, the Superbike will feature everything from a rear view camera (instead of mirrors) to a fully modern electronics package, and the latest semi-active suspension (on the higher-spec model at least). Expect traction control, wheelie control, launch control, a quick shifter, and more.

We'll have to wait until November to find out what other tricks are up the Superbikes' sleeve, however, as Norton doesn't plan to officially unveil the two bikes until November 19, at the Motorcycle Live show. I know that, with the price tag Norton is talking about, it's hard to be overly excited about that unveil, but take into account what Norton showed with its seventh place finish at the 2016 Isle of Man TT (Senior TT), and the potential spec sheet of the V4 Superbike, and I think there's still reason to look forward to the unveiling.

So, stay tuned, we can’t wait to bring you more.
