Situated for decades on Lake Como in northern Italy, Moto Guzzi is best known for its stalwart air-cooled longitudinal V-twins. But the company’s roots are tremendously exciting. Early Moto Guzzi Grand Prix racers won eight world championships through 1957, its burly Ambassador touring bikes were once popular as police motors, and the artistically styled Le Mans succeeded on both street and track. Today, eight Moto Guzzi motorcycle models are available in the US. Buyers get something different with each one, starting with a choice of three V9s (Bobber Sport, Bobber, and Roamer) and seven V7s (Stone, Special, Racer, Carbon Dark, Milano, Rough, and Carbon Shine), the latter series borrowing its spare looks from the V7 Sport of the 1970s. Cruiser fans can choose from the 1,380cc MGX-21, California 1400 Touring, Eldorado, or Audace, while the V85 TT adventure bike is ready to travel fast and far, on- or off-road.
