Among the first of the Benda bikes will be the V-twin-powered Napoleonbob 500, priced at $6399.Keeway America

Per its announcement earlier this year, Chinese manufacturer Benda Motorcycles is following through on the rollout of new models to North America. The first Benda bikes to be available on American soil are the Chinchilla 300, Chinchilla 500, and Napoleonbob 500 cruisers, all to be distributed by existing importer Keeway America, which will begin receiving this first wave of bikes next week. All three bikes are aiming for the entry-level segment currently populated by the likes of the Kawasaki Eliminator, Honda Rebel 500 and Rebel 300, and CFMoto’s 450CL-C, though Benda’s bikes stand apart, utilizing V-twin engines rather than the parallel twins of the aforementioned machines. Keeway, you may recall, already imports Benelli and Keeway motorcycles for the US market as well.

The bobber-styled Napoleonbob is powered by a 476cc DOHC V-twin engine and gets inverted fork, ABS, traction control, and slipper clutch.Keeway America

The largest and (at least visually) most intriguing of the bikes is the oddly named Napoleonbob 500, a bobber-style bike that brings a fairly comprehensive feature set, considering the price. Top of the list is Benda’s liquid-cooled 476cc DOHC eight-valve V-twin, said to put out 47 hp at 9000 rpm and 31 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 7200 rpm, according to Keeway’s US specs. The steel cradle frame carries a faux-girder inverted fork up front with a preload-adjustable hidden rear monoshock (which has just 1.18 inches of stroke); other notable features including a radial-mount four-piston front brake caliper clamping a 320mm disc, ABS, traction control, and a slipper clutch. Ready to ride, the bobber weighs 474 pounds, with Keeway listing MSRP as $6399.

The Chinchilla 500 rolls with the same frame and engine as the Bonaparte bobber, but goes for a more conventional cruiser style with a dual seat and dual rear shocks.Keeway America

Lower on the price scale is the Chinchilla 500 (somebody in marketing needs to look at other naming conventions), which, according to Keeway’s US spec sheet, gets the same steel frame and 476cc liquid-cooled V-twin with an identical claimed output. The Chinchilla adopts more traditional cruiser styling, with an exposed 41mm inverted fork, a stepped seat with passenger accommodations, and a coil-spring twin-shock rear suspension, and is topped by a 4.2-gallon fuel tank. Curb weight is listed at 474 pounds, and it rolls on fat 16-inch tires front and rear, with 61 inches between them. The Chinchilla 500 is available in black or gray, with a US price of $5999.

The smallest Benda you can buy in the US this year is the Chinchilla 300, which gets a 298cc liquid-cooled Vee and a list price of $4899.Keeway America

The smallest of the US offerings is the Chinchilla 300, which is basically a downsized 500. You’ll get the same classic cruiser look, but power comes courtesy of a SOHC 298cc liquid-cooled V-twin, with wheelbase measuring 55.9 inches and a dry weight of 368 pounds for a more compact package. By the same token, claimed output drops to a peak of 29.5 hp at 8500 rpm and 19.5 lb.-ft. of torque at 6500 rpm in US form. You still get an inverted fork, ABS, LED lighting, and a six-speed transmission however, with the MSRP listed at $4899.
