2019 Husqvarna FC And TC Models First Look

First look at Husqvarna’s four-stroke and two-stroke motocross bikes

Husqvarna has released preliminary information about its 2019 FC and TC motocross models. The four-stroke and two-stroke motocross bikes share a number of changes to the suspension and chassis, and Husqvarna will be releasing all the technical information on the FC and TC models in mid-June, so stay tuned to the site to read about all the details then. In the meantime, here's what we know about Husqvarna's 2019 motocross bikes.

Engine

All the FC models feature flow-designed resonance chambers on the header pipes, more compact silencers, and new generation lithium-ion batteries designed to improve output consistency. Additionally, the traction and launch control on all the four-strokes have updated settings as well. And the flagship FC 450 model features a redesigned SOHC cylinder head that is 500 grams (approximately 1.1 pounds) lighter than the '18 model.

The two-stroke machines all have new mufflers and the header pipe on the TC 250 has been redesigned too. Additionally, all of Husqvarna's motocross bikes have updated cooling systems with new center tubes, and the external fuel line on all the machines have been moved inward for extra protection.

Suspension

The front and rear WP suspension components also receive changes for 2019. The WP AER 48 fork and WP DCC shock both have updated settings, and the shock has a new piston as well, both designed to further improve energy absorption and straight-line stability.

Chassis

The 2019 Husqvarnas have a new frame with an increase in longitudinal rigidity, designed to improve rider feedback and finished in a blue powdercoating. The subframe is a new two-piece design 250 grams (approximately 0.55 pound) lighter than the previous model. To match with the new frame and subframe, Husqvarna redesigned the bodywork to offer a more tailored fit for better comfort and control. Further chassis changes include the chain adjustment length increased by 5mm, a new bend of ProTaper handlebar, new spoke nipples on the D.I.D rims, new throttle cable routing, and a triple clamp protector integrated into the front number plate.
