2018 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Dyno Numbers

Husqvarna’s small-displacement scrambler output

We just got our hands on one of the new 2018 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 models and rolled it right into our dyno room so we could see just how much power this small-displacement scrambler puts out. The Svartpilen 401 is equipped with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder four-stroke engine. With a displacement of just 373.2cc, the Svartpilen is indeed in the small-displacement category.

The Svartpilen may be a small-displacement bike but it has a big personality. We are really digging the vibe of this scrambler’s aesthetics.

Running the single-cylinder 373.2cc engine on the dyno in fourth gear, we got 40.27 hp at 8,650 rpm and 25.81 pound-feet of torque at 6,890 rpm.Cycle World

"The design idea for the SVARTPILEN 401 is to strip away all unnecessary gimmicks and to create a simple, progressive mix of classic thinking and modern design." - Husqvarna

Our preferred hearing protection while in the dyno room is 3M’s Peltor Optime 105 ear protectors.Jon McDevitt
