2018 Ducati Scrambler Classic

Since its launch in 2015, Ducati’s Scrambler lineup has blossomed, expanding from a few bikes initially to 11 different models today, in engine sizes from 399cc to 1,079cc. All blend styling cues from various 1960s and ’70s Ducati singles together with modern computer-aided design and manufacturing, electronic fuel injection, and vastly better performance, ride and handling, and braking than their forebears offered. Among the current variants are the Scrambler Classic and Scrambler Street Classic.

Both models have an air-cooled, desmodromic 803cc V-twin developing a claimed 73 hp for strong—though not exactly scintillating—performance, wire-spoke wheels with black rims, a black inverted fork, frame, and swingarm, single front and rear disc brakes with ABS, and broad, two-passenger seats. Model differences are confined to various details. Weighing a reasonable 424 pounds wet, the Classic has a vintage-look brown seat and a full-length rear fender (which, like the front fender, is aluminum), and is available in either Orange Sunshine or Sugar White. Alternatively, the lighter 410-pound-wet Street Classic has a bobbed rear fender, a black seat, and comes in Volcano Grey.
