BMW Unveils Carbon Fiber-Framed HP4 Race Advanced Prototype

Dear Ducati 1299 Superleggera, you're no longer the only bike with carbon fiber frame and wheels

BMW Motorrad has announced that it will create a limited-production HP4 Race in 2017. Based on the S 1000 RR, the Race will come complete with carbon fiber twin-spar frame and wheels.

I wish I could say more, but honestly, that’s about all BMW would lead onto.

“It was initially left open as to how far the advanced prototype reflected what the final motorcycle would look like,” BMW said. “It is also certain that the BMW HP4 Race will be manufactured by hand in an exclusive limited series and supplied in the second half of 2017.”

“We will reveal more about this model next spring,” added Sephan Schaller, President BMW Motorrad.

In the meantime, we've got some photos of the bike sitting proudly on the EICMA show floor, plus video from BMW. Scroll down to check them all out.
