MotoAmerica: Round #7 Triumph Race Preview - Laguna Seca

Triumph Motorcycles Press Release:

The MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship heads to Triumph rider Bobby Fong's home track of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend, July 17-19, as the series joins the international stars of the World Superbike Championship.

Fong, on the #50 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph Daytona 675R, has climbed to sixth in the Supersport points standings after an early season injury saw him miss vital seat time. There is no doubt that Fong has returned to peak form though, as he has finished on the podium in three of the last four races, including a season's best finish of second at the series' most recent stop at Miller Motorsports Park.

“Even though winning the championship is out of the question at this point in the season, the entire Latus Motors Racing team has worked hard to provide me with the best possible package each weekend,” said Bobby Fong. “My results the past two weekends have shown that we can compete for the win, and I’m looking to do just that this weekend at a track I know well.”

As part of VETMotorsports outreach initiative, Sgt. Chad C. has been hired for the entirety of the MotoAmerica season as a crew member of the Latus Motors Racing team. Through Castrol’s VETMotorsports Performance Match Fund, the on-track performance of Triumph teams in both AMA Pro Flat Track and MotoAmerica competition has earned VETMotorsports $5,325 in bonuses thus far this season.
