When Star Motorcycles introduced its Bolt and Bolt R-Spec models to the public at last year's Daytona Bike Week, we predicted a promising future for the affordable entry-level cruiser. Well, that turned out to be the understatement of the year: The Bolt, powered by an air-cooled 942cc 60-degree V-twin, quickly became the number-one-selling metric cruiser across all displacement categories over the past 12 months.
So, what’s new about the Bolt for 2015? Minor refinements, that’s all. A revised display for the digital speedometer display is perhaps most significant, which is said to be easier to read during the day. The standard Bolt ($7,990), available in Glacier Blue or Candy Red, also has updated tank graphics. The R-Spec ($8,390) model, with remote-reservoir shocks, also boasts bolder new tank graphics and pinstriped wheels. Buyers of the Star Bolt R-Spec have a choice between Raven Black or Matte Silver colors.
Is this enough to keep the Star Bolt at the top of the sales charts? Only time will tell. Look for the mildly updated 2015 Star Bolt to go on sale in July.
