With production of MV Agusta’s brand-new three-cylinder 675cc F3 moved up by four months and bikes expected to hit European dealerships by the end of this year, MV recently announced a suggested retail price of 11,990 Euros ($16,940) for the standard edition of the bike. Keeping with company tradition, however, volume production will be preceded by a limited run of 200 “Serie Oro” versions, which have significant upgrades over the standard model.
Unique to the F3 Serie Oro are gold frame spars and single-sided swingarm, with forged aluminum wheels anodized to match. Though the paint scheme uses the traditional MV silver-and-red colors, the graphic treatment, which includes color-matched mirrors, distinguishes this bike from the standard model. Other gold highlights include a D.I.D chain and the fairing’s cooling-air inlet and exhaust screens. The clutch cover has a brushed finish, and the alternator cover is CNC-machined from billet aluminum. The rider and passenger seats are constructed of a combination of leather and Alcantara surfaces.
Mechanically, the F3 Serie Oro features a few key parts that differ from those of the base model. These include Brembo radial-mount Monobloc one-piece calipers working on Racing discs, along with a fully adjustable Öhlins fork, TTX shock and steering damper. Machined billet-aluminum rearsets also are standard. Front and rear fenders, dash cover, airbox covers, fairing inserts, chain guards, lower fairing and stacked exhaust outlets are all made of carbon fiber and clearcoated for protection.
Pricing for the Serie Oro has not yet been released.
