2009 Indian Bomber and Dark Horse - First Look

Two new limited-edition models broaden Chief line.

Indian Motorcycle Company unveiled two new limited-edition models based on the flagship Chief at its official dealer meeting held this past June in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

Joining the existing Standard, Deluxe, Roadmaster and Vintage, the Bomber ($30,999) comes in Military Green with Silver Smoke trim and features pin-up-girl gas-tank artwork inspired by World War II aircraft nose art. A brown leather seat has the "look and feel of an old bomber jacket." Matching leather saddlebags complete the package. Also powered by Indian's air-cooled, fuel-injected, 105-cubic-inch PowerPlus V-Twin, the matte-finish Dark Horse ($27,999) is available in Thunder Black, Indian Red and Deep Water Blue. Blacked-out components from which the bike's name is derived include the headlight, tappet blocks, suspension, exhaust system and hand controls. All Chief models are equipped with six-speed Baker transmissions, belt final drive and Brembo four-piston front brakes.

"We're very excited about the new Indian models, which bring a distinct range to the Chief line," said Chris Bernauer, general manager. Indian currently has 15 dealerships worldwide.
