Overview

The ultracompetitive 250cc four-stroke motocross segment has more players than ever before, and as always, the battle for supremacy rages on in the AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross circuits, as well as at the consumer level. In both arenas you will find the Kawasaki KX250 in a relentless fight for the top step, constantly evolving in search of the competitive edge that will outgun the other brands. For 2025, Kawasaki’s quarter-liter motocrosser sees a head-to-toe revision aimed at improving power, handling, and even stepping up in the technology department with smartphone connectivity for 2025.

The 2025 Kawasaki KX250 (Yes, it’s a four-stroke, and no, it does not have an “F” at the end of its name. Kawasaki got the F out of here back in 2019, figuring that since it has not had a two-stroke in many years, the F indicator was no longer necessary) has a laundry list of upgrades for the new model year. It essentially received the same treatment as the KX450 from the 2024 model year with a new frame, updated engine with a new cylinder head, straight exhaust port and center exhaust, and revised Showa suspension.

On the technology side, the 2025 Kawasaki KX250 is brought into the world of onboard electronics with new smartphone connectivity. Through the Kawasaki app, owners can fine-tune engine performance as well as log rider settings and track maintenance (no hourmeter though, which is a puzzler). The little Kawi also receives a handlebar-mounted switch for power mode selection and traction control options.

Technology takes a step forward for the ’25 KX250 with selectable engine maps, traction control options, and smartphone connectivity.Kawasaki
