At Yamaha's AIMExpo press conference, the company's Derek Brooks said the DT-07 Flat Track Concept—the surprise unveiling of the show—was "our interpretation of what a dirt track bike should look like in 2015." Well, we like what we see; the DT-07 is a stunner that conjures up visions of Kenny Roberts riding the cushion during his flat-track days. If you'd like to learn more about this FZ-07-powered concept, which has a chrome-moly frame and a linked rear shock, read our story: FIRST LOOK: Yamaha DT-07 Flat Track Concept. In the meantime, we caught up with Yamaha's US racing boss, Keith McCarty, and asked him a few questions about the DT-07, which was built by Jeff Palhegyi Design under the direction of McCarty's crew at Yamaha. We think you'll enjoy what McCarty, who was recently inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame, had to say.
