Industry Racing Press Release:
As the action continues in the City of Industry, the 2014 motorcycle speedway season at Industry Racing pays respect to our soldiers with a “Salute to the Military” on Wednesday night. Tomorrow, June 25, all service men and women with a military i.d. will receive free admission to enjoy the exhilarating racing that The Grand Arena has housed thus far this season. General admission rates also provide an unbeatable option for the whole family to enjoy some of the best racing on the planet! Adult general admission is just $10, while kids and seniors can get in for only $5!
Drawing the biggest attention from fans, the First Division has witnessed first-hand the “Battle of the Billys,” as Billy Janniro and Billy Hamill continue to duke it out week-in and week-out to try and prove who is faster. Thus far, Janniro has the upper hand remaining undefeated in his three starts, with Hamill capturing a Main Event win of his own during the third week of action. With Janniro slated to miss tomorrow night’s action, the opportunity arises for another rider to step up in his absence and bring the challenge to Hamill. The likes of Charlie Venegas and Max Ruml have shown serious speed this season and could be ones to watch on Wednesday night.
The Sidecar Division continues to serve as arguably the most unpredictable battle each week, with the roar of 1000cc motors and the bravery of each dynamic duo providing fender-to-fender battles you don’t want to miss. The No. 1 of Joe Jones and Johnny Glover remain dominant, as they have taken each Main Event this season.
Offering a glimpse into the bright future of American speedway, the Junior 250 Division has been a three-racer showdown between Dillon Ruml, Gage Geist and Kurtis Hamill. With Ruml carrying a three-week streak into Wednesday night, Geist and Hamill will need step up the competition if they hope to slow him down. As the only one of the trio to not have a win on the season, Hamill is sure to rely on the mentoring of his legendary father and break through for victory, perhaps as soon as tomorrow night.
Another three-racer shootout has emerged in the 150 Second Division with Keelan Venegas, Dakota Shockley and Luke Whitcomb. Having bettered his competition in recent weeks, Venegas has captured three straight Main Events. Similarly, Sebastian Palmese also has three Main Event wins to his credit this season to lead the pack in the 150 First Division. Fellow 150 First Division racers Slater Lightcap and Tristan Britt have been adding consistent pressure to Palmese as they hope to break his dominance tomorrow night.
The Second and Third Divisions have offered different winners and a vast array of exciting racing. Being developmental divisions, parity reigns supreme as anyone has the ability to win on any given Wednesday night. Among the top in the Second Division is Dalton Leedy, with two Main Event wins on the season. Likewise, Lewis Hughes has been a picture of consistency in the Third Division with one Main Event win to go along with three runner-up finishes.
Finally, the Pee Wee Division has found one racer emulating the dominance of his pro counterparts as Travis Horn has shown the ability to lead the pack from whatever starting position he is granted. Despite a handicap in which Horn has progressively started further and further back from his competitors, the youngster continues to make his way to the forefront of the division and began the season with a perfect 3-0 record. However, Cole Ayers ended Horn’s dominant reign during last week’s action to earn his first Main Event win of the season.
