KTM 690 Duke Track

Austria gets on track with a lightweight, limited-edition Single.

KTM 690 Duke Track

KTM has developed a special racing edition of its powerful Duke 690 and given life to the KTM European Junior Cup, which is open to younger riders and runs in conjunction with eight rounds of the Superbike World Championship.

The potential of the Duke Track is staggering in relation to its sub-10,000 euro price ($12,850) and low maintenance costs. A run of 200 bikes was produced and made available to enthusiasts looking for the right tool with which to have fun at the racetrack on a Saturday afternoon.

Stripped of lighting equipment and fitted with an Akrapovic-developed titanium exhaust system, the Duke Track tips the scales at a claimed 308 pounds dry. The mighty Single generates 79 horsepower, 9 more than the street-legal version of the bike, thanks to the aforementioned exhaust system, a larger airbox, a special KTM PowerParts camshaft and related fuel injection remapping.

The rolling gear was equally upgraded by adding 15mm-longer-travel, fully adjustable WP suspension, grippy Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tires and a Brembo “Race” front disc brake consisting of a single radial-mount front caliper and floating rotor.
